About Jewelology
Independent Somatic Art Healing Studio & Kids’ Creative Art Classes at the O2, North Greenwich, London
Jewelology is a somatic art healing and mindful art studio based inside Firepit Art Gallery next to O2 Greenwich Peninsula, North Greenwich, London. We offer creative workshops and private sessions to support emotional healing, stress relief and personal growth for busy professionals and creatives around North Greenwich and Canary Wharf - and for local parents seeking meaningful, art‑based wellbeing for their children.
We believe each person carries an inner jewel - a deep source of wisdom, love and vitality - often covered by the pressures of city life, work stress and old emotional wounds. Through mindful art and body‑based creativity, we invite you to slow down, reconnect with your inner world and let your body tell its own story.
“Healing takes place when we bring the unconscious into consciousness.” - Dr. Carl Gustav Jung
What is somatic art?
In simple terms, somatic art is a way of using art to listen to your body. Instead of only talking about your experiences, you use colour, movement and touch to notice inner sensations and gently give them a safe outlet on paper or through materials.
Research on stress and trauma suggests that many experiences are stored in the body and nervous system, not just in thoughts and stories. Somatic art combines gentle body awareness with guided creative exercises to help you regulate your nervous system, release tension and feel more grounded in daily life.
Our approach
At Jewelology, we integrate mindful art‑making with ideas from Jungian psychology and Sensorimotor Art Therapy®‑inspired methods.
From Jungian psychology, we take the view that inner images, dreams and symbols can reveal deeper layers of the psyche, and we use practices like active imagination to engage with them safely
From Sensorimotor Art Therapy‑inspired work, we use Guided Drawing, rhythmic and bilateral mark‑making and close attention to body sensations to support nervous system regulation and trauma‑sensitive healing
Many people experience a gentle release of emotional blocks, a renewed sense of energy, improved capacity to self‑soothe and deeper connection with their authentic self.

Q&A - For people trying somatic art for the first time
1. Do I need to be good at art?
No. You do not need any art skills. Sessions use simple marks, colours and gentle movements to help your body relax and your mind slow down; the focus is on how it feels, not on making a perfect picture.
2. What happens in a first session?
A typical first session at the beautiful Firepit Art Gallery next to the O2 in North Greenwich might include:
a short check‑in and simple breathing or grounding exercise
guided, easy drawing movements and colour exploration that match how you feel
time to notice body sensations and how they change
space to reflect, if you wish, on any images or feelings that emerged
You can keep your artwork private or share parts that feel comfortable.
3. Is it safe if I have never done anything like this?
The process is gentle and trauma‑sensitive. You stay in control of your pace, what you share and when you pause. The focus is on building safety, regulation and curiosity rather than pushing you into intense memories.
4. How is this different from traditional art therapy?
Art therapy in the UK is a protected, HCPC‑regulated profession often practised within clinical or mental health settings. Jewelology offers somatic and mindful art‑based healing, which is a complementary wellbeing practice, not formal psychotherapy. We emphasise nervous system regulation, creativity and self‑discovery, and you can combine it with counselling, coaching or other support if you wish.
5. Who is somatic art suitable for?
Somatic art can be helpful if you:
feel stressed, anxious or “stuck in your head”
find it hard to put feelings into words
want a calm, creative way to unwind after work near North Greenwich
are curious about body‑based or creative approaches to wellbeing
6. What should I wear or bring?
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in and that you do not mind getting a bit of paint or charcoal on. All materials are provided. You are welcome to bring a notebook if you like to write reflections.
7. How long are sessions and how often should I come?
Intro taster workshops usually last 60–90 minutes, and ongoing groups or 1:1 sessions can be arranged weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your needs and schedule. Many people start with a taster session and then decide whether they want a short series or a longer journey.
8. Where exactly are you located?
We are based at Firepit Art Gallery at the O2, on Greenwich Peninsula, a short walk from North Greenwich Underground station (Jubilee line). This makes us easy to reach from Canary Wharf, central London and the surrounding Greenwich area.

- Somatic Art & Creative Healing Practitioners
Dr. Jing Wang - Psychological & Spiritual Consultant
Dr Jing Wang is a psychological and spiritual consultant with dual PhDs from the University of Sheffield (UK) and Tohoku University (Japan), specialising in philosophy and social well‑being. Her work at Jewelology bridges rigorous academic training with a deeply lived spiritual path, supporting adults who seek emotional healing, meaning and inner awakening.
Over more than a decade, Dr Wang has immersed herself in spiritual traditions, religious philosophies and psychological modalities, exploring the deeper questions of life and the nature of consciousness. A sudden and powerful Kundalini awakening led her into eight years of intensive practice and integration across Eastern and Western approaches, culminating in a direct realisation experience that continues to unfold in daily life.
At Jewelology, Dr Wang offers:
psychological and spiritual healing workshops
1:1 consultations for emotional, psychological and spiritual concerns
support for clients experiencing autism spectrum conditions, anxiety, trauma‑related symptoms and complex emotional patterns
Her style is grounded, contemplative and insight‑oriented. Sessions invite you to deepen your understanding of yourself and others, see relational patterns more clearly, and find freedom from the imprints of the past so that genuine change and awakening can emerge.

non‑verbal, image‑based processes inspired by C.G. Jung’s active imagination and archetypal psychology.
As both an artist and a mother in a cross‑cultural family, Octavia knows first‑hand what it is like to balance creativity, parenting and life alongside a partner working in a fast‑paced, high‑stress industry. This personal journey of supporting her own family’s wellbeing gives her deep empathy for busy professionals and parents who feel overwhelmed, exhausted or disconnected from themselves.
In Octavia’s sessions, adults and children are invited to:
explore intuitive mark‑making and rhythmic, bilateral drawing

gently meet emotional tension, family dynamics and inner narratives through images rather than only words.
Her work offers a nurturing, structured space to reconnect with the body, cultivate resilience and rediscover joy and self‑trust.
